About Neuralynx
Our Mission
Neuralynx, Inc. is an internationally recognized provider of electrophysiology data recording systems and solutions for neuroscience research, as well as for practical human medical data recording. Neuralynx Inc. specializes in the development of cutting edge electrophysiology data recording systems and experiment accessories while providing quality, long term customer guidance and support. Neuralynx History Neuralynx was formed in 1993 when Casey Stengel was awarded an SBIR grant for data acquisition system development. Having already invented a method for detecting, extracting and classifying Single Electrode and Stereo-Trode Spike Waveforms in software, as well as a low noise programmable amplifier (Lynx-8), Casey began working with Dr. Bruce McNaughton on his NASA/NIH Neuralab Space Shuttle E-100 grant. The grant required a compact Space Flight Certified 160 channel microelectrode/Tetrode recording system to be developed. In 1998, the Neuralab Space Shuttle Flight data recording system successfully recorded high frequency single unit “place cells” in space from two rats simultaneously on the NASA Space Shuttle. After completing the space mission, Neuralynx, Inc. was incorporated in Tucson, AZ and began sales and support of the first Shuttle Mission Data Acquisition System. Neuralynx also completed a Digital Acquisition System (Digital Lynx) for human recording in 2003 (UL60601 compliance in 2007) as well as the first Wireless Digital Acquisition System (Digital Falcon) in 2008. Neuralynx currently resides in Bozeman, MT and supports over 500 Cheetah data acquisition systems world wide in use at universities, research institutions, and hospitals and continues to be a leader in electrophysiological recording. The Neuralab Shuttle Experiment The Cheetah was the heart of the University of Arizona E100 experiment for the NASA NeuraLab Space Shuttle Mission which flew on Columbia in April, 1998. The rigorous space flight requirements dictated the design of a new, high performance, low power, compact system with extreme reliability. The Cheetah was designed to withstand the intense Space Shuttle launch vibrations and to perform in space, which it did flawlessly - a benefit for all earthbound laboratory research environments! Why Choose Neuralynx Neuralynx provides a well rounded list of products and services designed to make data acquisition simple and efficient.
